Unite: Improving to Perfection.

We are a community! From teacher involvement, to all the amazing events CGS pulls off, to the many clubs only CGS offers, by the end of freshman year everyone should know everyone.  We respect each other, no matter how much hair dye you have! For just one hallway, we have become the center of foreign pop culture, fashion, and art! Although we come for the language, CGS has turned into the hub of expression, while still balancing a very rigorous academic experience. CGS has very clear standards of academic achievement, while still accepting of every weirdo and outcast. It is through this ambition, I want to improve the CGS reputation as the best school for learning language and having the best community!

CGS needs to become the envy of the school district. We need to get past all these textbooks, and move onto a more advanced way of learning. Reading out of a textbook the entire period, is a period wasted. We need to be thinking in a way that we want to be thinking and I truly think that this is possible through introducing tablets and connecting CGS to the internet. For the best community, and the best learning, connecting everyone through the internet and using tablets will build friendship, creativity, and leadership skills, along with organizing many events.

We are a community!

  1. Matt, i loved the beginning of this. I liked the whole thing, but the first paragraph made me feel like if I didn't already go to CGS, I'd be really jealous of everyone that did. I think it was a great opening to your fight against textbooks and paper. Making me proud of my school got me to read on and be really enthusiastic about your argument.

  2. The way you wrote they first paragraph, highlighting all of the things that CGS takes pride in, made me continuously agreeing all the way to the end of the paragraph. This subtle agreement in the back of the mind is very important because for me it seemed to suddenly be transferring itself over to the next paragraph, making me agree with your argument. It is as though, because you have proved to me that you do know what you are talking about in terms of awesome schools, I will take your word on other things you say and agree with them. Its a really great way for you to bring people in to your post with lots of pathos, and keep them going with a bit of ethos.

  3. I don't like this post as much as my previous ones. Reading it over made me feel, somewhat like Samantha said, like as if I'm advertising CGS, or that we don't already go to CGS. I wanted to go for inspirational, and ambition, but it came out as a ton of logic and reasoning. Like I said in class, I couldn't really get a story to describe this, so I thought I should do something styled like a campaign speech. I'm happy that it at least brings CGS pride :D!
